I've been thinking...

Top Ten Thoughts

1. My husband looks hot with a buzz cut.
2. Coffee is a necessity at this time of the year.
3. After awhile, all of your papers sound the same. (If you are doing music papers together with Sociology papers, that's a bad thing. Beethoven and Bach are not pioneers on the issue of social class.)
4. People who you spend a short time with can have a greater impact on you than those who you speak to endlessly.
5. Places you've lived in for a short time can change you forever.
6. Some memories aren't easy to forget.
7. Life is short...very short.
8. Live each day like it's your last.
9. Prof. Griffin rules
10. I've been married for almost a year!

Update

On Friday I asked some of you to pray for my friend with her anuerism. Before she could get into surgery the doctors declared her 99% brain dead. Her Dad took her off the machines on Saturday and it turns out (as you could gather from the post below) that she passed away.

The funeral is Wednesday so I'd appreciate it if you prayed for her friends and family. She really was a very special and kind person.

To be honest with you...right now I don't understand why this had to happen. She still had so much to offer the world. Death is such a hard thing to deal with. You never expect it to happen with someone so young.

As for Dawn... you truly were a bright star. You will be greatly missed. (sniff...)

For Dawn

Epitaph

Warm summer sun shine kindly here;
Warm southern wind blow softly here;
Green sod above lie light, lie light--
Goodnight, dear heart, goodnight, goodnight.

Volcano

Don't hold yourself like that
You'll hurt your knees
I kissed your mouth and back
But that's all I need
Don't build your world around volcanoes melt you down

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask for the sea

Don't throw yourself like that
In front of me
I kissed your mouth your back
Is that all you need?
Don't drag my love around volcanoes melt me down

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask for what I give to you
Is just what i'm going through
This is nothing new
No no just another phase of finding what I really need
Is what makes me bleed
And like a new disease she's still too young to treat
Volcanoes melt me down
She's still too young
I kissed your mouth
You do not need me

Silly Rie...

There's days when I get up and I leave my brain on the pillow. I got all my books together this morning because I knew that I'd have to do some serious studying during my breaks. But...I forgot the most important thing....my glasses! Those of you who know me, know that I'm blind as a bat without them. I think tonight is going to consist of studying rather than a social life of some sort. Crap. I hope I can take notes.

Silly Rie... when will you learn? ;-)

In other news...I bought tickets to Sarah Slean yesterday. I'm so excited! She's coming to Louis' on March 18th which is a crazy school day for me. It will be nice to end the day with that. I hope I don't bite off all my nails in anticipation!

Just trying to figure it out

I'm looking forward to the end of April. It's becoming more and more difficult to cope with school. At least now I know where I'm going to be next year.

I've learned what happens when you post things on the internet involving big decisions....everyone assumes that you're pregnant. (which I'm not so don't get too excited guys) Your bets are still on. I'm still wanting to sit on this for a bit and decifer God's will in the whole thing before I let the masses know. Jer and I have made a decision but we still are seeking God in it. You'll know when the time comes. (if in fact it does) Thanks for your concern. I didn't realize I would be teasing you all so much with this so I'll shut up about it.

In other news, does anyone listen to Damien Rice? He's from the Rep. of Ireland and my bro gave me his CD for Christmas. I really am enjoying him (and also enjoying the fact that I don't hear his stuff everyday on the radio and get tired of it.) Apparently a few of his songs are on the soundtrack for the movie 'Closer' (I still need to see that movie.)
