Cain and Abel

I had an interesting thought during my Bible reading today. I have always wondered why God did not accept Cain's offering but I think I may just have a different theory now. God says, shortly after he rejects Cain's offering but before Abel is murdered, "If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it." I think now that God chose not to accept Cain's offering in order to test him and in turn make him stronger for resisting sin's temptation. It had nothing to do with the quality of the offering. This just proves to me once again how mysterious the ways of God are to us humans.

41 days and counting...

until jer and I leave for overseas!

I can't wait! I miss the people and the place so very much and I can't wait to share it with my honey. We're possibly going to be taking a short trip to Scotland while we are there. Awesome! I've posted some pics of where we may possibly stay and visit if we do decide to go with the bus tour.

And finally...here's a great picture of my former place of residence:

It's closer than it seems...

This morning I registered for my last semester of University classes (my major practicum happens after the fall term...I'll be done in 2007). I can't believe that I have a year left. I feel like my job has been to be a student (I could almost be a doctor by now...Caroline understands!). Now I have to decide what on earth I'm going to do with my life... Mmmmm.... I thought I would know. Social Work isn't specific enough.

Now I need to decide what area of social work...There's so many (far more than child protection)... HELP!

Ah well...I'm sure everything will work out for the best. God is in control (and maybe he'll find me one of the coveted jobs in the Saskatoon Health Region...fingers crossed). At least Jer will get to go to University after waiting all this time for me to be done.

In other news...I'm really into my old music lately. Like...all the classics, Hendrix, Dylan, Pink Floyd, and many others which I will not mention in fear of being made fun of. I'm happy to have eclectic tastes. I think that another music quiz is in order soon.

There's lots more in this head that's brewing...I will discuss it at a later time when I can make it less boring. ;-)

Interesting evening...

I had planned to watch the Oscars last night, but I ended up in the emergency room of RUH. I'm sitting here now in a neck brace and I can't take it off until they tell me if I broke a bone in my neck or not. Does anyone have any tips on how to sleep/rest in a neck brace? I'm having trouble with that one. ;-)

As much as it hurts...It's a really funny story...

I slipped on the floor that Jer just polished the day before and hit my head really hard on the door frame on the way down. I couldn't move for awhile. Bryson came in from playing outside in the snow with jer to find me on the floor. He was very concerned at first. However, we just bought him a camera and he's been taking pictures...he decided to take a picture of me crying on the floor in pain and then recited afterwards, "That's one for the family album!" Funny kid. It made the pain more bearable because it was so hilarious. I love that kid.

P.S. Thanks to my little sis for coming out and helping me put my socks on and get my kid to school today. You rock!
