What I'm up to...

Shopping and Christmas stuff has been crazy. I'm still not done shopping and we celebrate our first family Christmas in 2 days! Yikes

Anyway, Jer and I are headed to Fairmont B. C. (picture above) via Calgary with my family. We leave on the 26th and we will be back New Year's Eve day. I'm very excited about it. It all hit home when Jer took out his snowboard yesterday. Prayers are appreciated driving through the mountains though.

When we get back I'll be spending my last few months as a student at Child and Family Services in the Child Protection area. (Prayers are appreciated there too.)

We both wish you all the most wonderful Christmas. May God richly bless all of you in this time.

I got two packages in the mail today!

The first package was from my good friends Claire and Julie and their family from Belfast, N. Ireland. They sent me seasons 1, 2, & 3 of the best show ever created...Father Ted. I need to have a movie night at my place I think... It's SO funny!

The second package contained a movie I ordered about Enron. It sounds really good and got excellent reviews. I'll let you all know how it was.

Sometimes other people speak what's on my mind

"Personally I'm in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions in the society have to be under popular control. Now, under capitalism we can't have democracy by definition. Capitalism is a system in which the central institutions of society are in principle under autocratic control. Thus, a corporation or an industry is, if we were to think of it in political terms, fascist; that is, it has tight control at the top and strict obedience has to be established at every level -- there's a little bargaining, a little give and take, but the line of authority is perfectly straightforward. Just as I'm opposed to political fascism, I'm opposed to economic fascism. I think that until major institutions of society are under the popular control of participants and communities, it's pointless to talk about democracy."
