Adventures with epilepsy...

I spent Thursday night with Bryson at the Winnipeg Children's Hospital. As soon as we got to Jan's he had the biggest seizure that he has ever had since living with us. Actually...he's never had one like that before. I felt so totally helpless...Eventually after all the tests were done they determined that his medication needed to be increased. I will say though, I can't understand why some people would not put their children on epilepsy medication after seeing that. I can see how serious damage can be done. His vision and stomach didn't fully recover for a few hours.

After throwing up quite a bit and getting more medication and rest, he seems to be fine now but he isn't allowed to play video games for awhile and this is making him a little frustrated to say the least. This whole experience made me that much more appreciative of parents who have to deal with these kinds of things on a regular basis... What strength they must have.
